Dina Melendez fell into agility with her Soft-Coated Wheaten Terriers in 2006 and was captivated with training her dogs in dog sports. Besides Agility, her dogs have competed in Barn Hunt, Scent Work, Tricks, Rally, and FAST CAT. Her first dogs, Boone and Raphael, appeared in the Emmy award-winning movie "The Normal Heart," starring Julia Roberts and Mark Ruffalo, which is where her love for teaching “tricks” expanded.

Dina's agility partners have included: MACH3 PACH "Boone," a multiple AKC Invitational and AKC Nationals qualifier, and the #1 top-ranked Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier in 2015 & 2016; "Raphael", OA, OAJ, RATI, RATN; and MACH PACH2 “Vida,” who is Dina’s most titled and versatile Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier, earning titles in Barn Hunt, NACSW, AKC Scent Work, Tricks, and Rally. Vida, a multiple AKC Invitational and AKC Nationals Qualifier, was the first Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier to attend, qualify, and place in her class at the Westminster Master Agility Championship for 3 years.

Dina’s newest partner is Andele!, a Lakeland Terrier who is currently titled in Agility, Barn Hunt, Scent Work, Tricks, and FAST CAT. At 4 years of age, Andele! attended her first National Event - the 2025 AKC Agility Invitationals - as the #1 Lakeland Terrier and finished as the Top Lakeland Terrier for 2025.

Dina’s classes focus on solid foundations on all pieces of agility equipment, adding in handling concepts and behaviors in incremental steps. Dina strives to instill confidence in her students and their dogs as they learn the tools needed to perform the necessary fundamentals and appropriate habits. Dina's vast experience teaching these behaviors helps the handler understand the aspects of positive reinforcement and behavior generalization, all while having fun!
